Umbraco upgrades are quoted from a free health check, and Azure-first hosting is sized per estate from your real traffic figures. If we're not the right fit, you'll hear it on the first call rather than three weeks into a proposal.

What does Helitz do?
Helitz is a small UK engineering practice specialising in Umbraco, .NET, and React and Next.js frontends. We build platforms, upgrade the ones that have fallen behind, and support them long term, including estates we did not write. Helitz works directly with businesses and as a white-label development partner for agencies.
Does Helitz work directly with businesses, or only through agencies?
Both. Helitz works directly with businesses that own an Umbraco or .NET platform, and as a white-label partner for agencies delivering under their own brand. Historically most delivery has been agency work, and direct engagements run through the same engineers, the same client portal and the same process.
What technologies does Helitz specialise in?
Current LTS releases of .NET for backend and API work, React and Next.js for frontend, and Umbraco for content management. Helitz hosts Azure-first, with AWS where a client's estate already sits there. We deliberately do not spread across more stacks than we can keep genuinely senior in.
Does Helitz support platforms it didn't build?
Yes, and most of Helitz's support work is on code we did not write. Every takeover starts with a free health check to establish what is actually there, including the undocumented integration and the package forked in 2019. Taking on an inherited Umbraco or .NET estate is routine rather than exceptional.
How does Helitz charge: fixed price or time and materials?
Both, depending on what suits the work. Clearly scoped projects are fixed price after a free scoping call, and Umbraco upgrades are quoted from a free health check. Ongoing support is a monthly care plan, and day rates for agency capacity are published in full on the Helitz agencies page.
How quickly can Helitz start?
A new Helitz engagement can typically start in two to three weeks, sooner for existing clients with retained capacity. We will tell you honestly on the first call whether we have the right people free. We would rather decline work than take on something we cannot staff properly.
Who will actually write our code?
Rob Dorsett scopes every Helitz engagement and stays involved in delivery, bringing in trusted associates when a project needs more capacity. You are told who is writing your code before the work starts. No code reaches a client environment without review by a second developer.
How do we keep track of what's in progress?
Every Helitz engagement runs through our client portal. You raise requests, agree acceptance criteria and sign off delivery there, with scope, cost and status in the same place. Changes are raised and priced there too, with a record of what was agreed.
What happens if the scope changes mid-project?
A mid-project scope change is checked against the signed-off acceptance criteria, and Helitz tells you whether it is rework on our side or new work. If it is new work, you get a price and approve it before we build anything. Nothing gets quietly added to an invoice.
